PETER GRAHAM

The son and brother of the Graham Family. Seemingly an average teenager on the surface, but severely emotionally withdrawn and detached from his extremely dysfunctional family. Unknowingly, Peter is the product of the secrets of his family which have run deeply and had an insidious effect on the Grahams over the years. A cult led by Peter's grandmother has been dedicated to summoning the ancient goetic demon Paimon, in order to grant them the wealth and knowledge he is known to supply to his summoners. Peter is the next designated vessel for Paimon, following his grandmother's unsuccessful attempts to place him in male hosts belonging to her bloodline over the years. When Peter's little sister Charlie was born, she was used as a "placeholder" until Peter could be made vulnerable enough and ready. After years of dark ceremonial magic and emotional distress to prep Peter, insidious nudges to manipulate the Grahams towards their fates, and their own family discord tearing them apart from the inside out, Peter's "inheritance" of Paimon was finally successful.

■ A goetic, extremely ancient entity pre-dating Christianity. Paimon is one of the nine kings of Hell (and one of the four Cardinal Demon Kings) who serves directly under Lucifer, and is described as one of his most devoted and loyal followers.
■ The demon king of Arts, Sciences, and Knowledge / "Secret Things", Paimon is summoned in order to grant wishes, desires, support, and teachings to his summoners. He has even been described as a djinn / genie in some texts. In the grimoire he's depicted from (The Ars Goetia from The Lesser Key of Soloman), Paimon is the only demon who requires an offering in order to summon him.
■ Detailed as a man with an effeminate face (sometimes described outright as having a "woman's face"). In some manuscripts, he is depicted to be a goddess. Said to wear a "glorious crown" and ride a Dromedary camel, with a procession of spirits following behind, playing loud, cacophonous music. Paimon's voice is also noted as being unable to be processed or understood by human ears unless commanded to speak in a clear language. His name is also associated with a "tinkling" sound. For a really apt representation of Paimon's Vibes, Colin Stetson's Reborn from the Hereditary OST is disconcertingly spot-on.
