GHOSTS OF FAMILY
Over Peter's time in Deerington, he was exposed to the "ghosts" of his dead family in various ways, each one having a significant impact on his journey and where he stands with himself now. There was his grandmother Ellen, who crawled her way up from a grave and to his doorstep, drawing triangles and other shapes in the dirt, whispering in strange languages, gazing at him with something that didn't feel quite like "love", more like "hunger"... the experience gradually helping Peter see how his grandmother had a connection to the fate he has been cursed to, and how she was perhaps even responsible for it. There was his mother Annie, a manifestation of Sodder's tortured energy, crouched like an animal and screaming at him from the ceiling, an experience that re-vamped Peter's fear of his mother, and helped Paimon secure more of a lasting hold over him in his weakened state. There was his father Steve, a calmer, gentle ghost appearing above a glowing lantern, silently watching over his son for a while: a needed reprieve, and perhaps a chance for Peter to forgive his father in certain ways. There was his little sister Charlie, a small ghost forged from countless shimmering fireflies, appearing and disappearing in a single night โ€” a time that let Peter say the goodbye to his sister that he was never allowed back home. There was even the family dog Rex, who showed up in Peter's blessing basket and was a much-needed companion for a great deal of his time in Deerington. And while he never explicitly saw any sort of apparition of his Uncle Charles (whose suicide at age 16 was, unknowingly to Peter, the result of Ellen trying to use her teenage son as a host for Paimon), Peter began to feel a connection to the man for the first time in his life due to beginning to experience suicidal thoughts after about a year in Deerington and therefore a year of living with his possessed state. Though he eventually came out of that much darker place, it hasn't quite left him since then โ€” some quiet, empty thing that gently rears its head again every once in awhile. In this sense, he now feels some deep connection to the man who took his own life when he was around Peter's age, his uncle now being yet another familial ghost haunting him. All of these gave Peter a chance to experience his family members one last time in Deerington's dreamscape setting, and while a state of peace regarding the complicated nuances of his family and their nightmarish deaths has hardly been reached, encountering their "ghosts" over time has given him a certain lucidity about things.

CONNECTION WITH PEERS
Peter's connection with other Deerington residents over time has been one of the most important parts of his journey through the next chapter of existence after the loss of his life and self back home. He has formed many peer friendships that have served a meaningful purpose in his life here, finding acceptance and that most terrifying concept โ€” love โ€” despite what's inside of him and what he's done. Though it's been a slow, shy process of allowing himself to be seen and loved, Peter's experience in Deerington earned him a crew of closely trusted friends in such peers as: Henry Coles, Diarmuid, Louis, Luna Lovegood, River Tam, Ruby Rose, Bella Swan, and Clarisse La Rue. Friends who feel more like the word "family". Some of them are gone now, but Peter knows he'll love them forever.

While all of these have been momentous in Peter's life, his relationship with the young monk Diarmuid has a particular level of importance in Peter's journey towards allowing himself to be loved, as being loved by a sweet, good monk devoted to God when one is demonically possessed (and views one's self as damned, cursed, perhaps evil) is.... quite the thing. His friendship and brotherhood with Diarmuid is a relationship that Peter felt especially in danger of tainting by default of what they both are, and he hid the truth of his "condition" from the other boy for a long time. Even after Diarmuid found out about Paimon (and "tamed" him down from a bloodthirsty state, earning a certain deep respect and attachment from the demon), Peter worried deeply about his dear friend becoming hurt by him, but over time realised that he would allow himself to continue to love and be loved by the boy he sees as his brother, choosing "keeping him close" over distancing himself from Diarmuid. Their relationship has helped Peter accept that he can be loved by even the most unlikely of friends (even ones who can spiritually smite him!), and that it's okay for him to want to love them in return, even if certain fears persist, as well as certain discomforts, with Peter's strange relationship regarding spirituality or religion, and the literal demon between himself and Diarmuid.

This was also very much the case in Peter's development with his first love, the young witch Luna Lovegood. His relationship with the girl has been one of importance from the very first time he met her โ€” or rather, was thrown into her desk during a demonic fit in the middle of class. Luna managed to calm the restless spirit within him, who was immediately and intensely drawn to the magic it could sense inside of the girl โ€” latching onto her status as witch, something the demon felt a deep and ancient connection with. From there, Luna and Peter continued to provide each other with comfort, security, and companionship, two lost and lonely souls holding one another's hands through the various horrors and upsets of Deerington, connected by a literal red thread for awhile, and then continuing to be deeply connected even when that thread was no longer there. Not only was Peter protected by Luna, but he learned how to protect someone else, too. They found little snippets of normalcy in one another, pieces of a youthful life both of them were never allowed back home, and falling in love with one another was something that happened slowly, naturally, with the both of them taking their time and doing things in their own way. The process of accepting that he could love and be loved by someone so deeply was exceptionally difficult for Peter for a long time, even after Luna met his literal ghosts, even after she learned what he'd done back home, and even after everything came into the light about the fact that the strange, lost being haunting him this whole time was in fact a demon. But he was loved despite those things, and that has helped Peter grow in many ways: helped him learn how to be a little bit softer with himself, how to be a little bit fiercer for someone else, how to be silly and comfortable and a teenager sometimes, how to be close to another person in ways he never had been before. Luna has been his best friend and his "soulmate", his person. He trusts her with his literal soul โ€” she's helped protect it with deep sacrifice on her own part. Through it all, Peter continued to host many deep and persistent fears that she would become hurt by being so close to something so strange and dangerous โ€” and she was hurt by Paimon, in horrific ways involving severe emotional and physical distress, and turmoil. However, even after facing that "worst fear" of his (and after learning the truth about what horrible things Luna had undergone and was still undergoing back home) Peter and Luna continued to choose to keep one another, making the ultimate decision to stay together and step through that Door in Deerington's final days, hand in hand.

Another type of connection with others that has been significant for him through Deerington has been his guiltily adopted younger sibling figures.... who have included: Will Byers, Mike Wheeler, Brianna Berenson, Arya Stark, and Lev. The process of becoming close to anyone who remotely touches upon the guilt in Peter's spirit regarding what happened to his little sister (which is generally just "anyone younger than himself") has been.... harrowing, to say the least. Peter has maintained a certain emotional distance from anyone who struck upon that note within him, while simultaneously being drawn closer to them, worrying deeply about their safety, terrified for any of them to become hurt โ€” keeping an eye on them from afar. The guilt for his sister haunts him and hurts him, and becoming closer to the younger people who are left is still a process he's working through. That said, he would literally die for any of them, hosting a protectiveness that may be quiet, fearful, and detached in its ways, but is still quite a meaningful thing for him.

Another important connection Peter has had involves his complicated relationship with Fern, the boy made of grass. For a long time, his connection with Fern was one that involved fear and upset, with Fern's abrasive and violent nature towards him touching upon a particular traumatised place in Peter, reminding him of his mother's acts of violence. From there, their relationship simply became more complex after the demon king inside of Peter formed his own relationship with Fern, drawn to the inhuman boy for his knight status. They both helped give to each other what they desperately needed at the time, and it helped Paimon slowly start regaining some of those lost pieces of himself. Fern treated him like a king, so he was able to act more like one, at times. Paimon's bond with Fern meant that Peter was forced to be much closer to the other teen than he wanted to be, with Fern fiercely protecting the demon king โ€” and therefore Peter, whose body Paimon was trapped inside of. However, things began to slowly change after various situations Fern and Peter individually went through, shaping and shifting them in ways that allowed their interactions to start being less hostile. They began to learn about the similiarities between themselves, getting to be witness to intimate parts of one another's identities and pasts, and finding a certain bond over the fact they both lost their first father figures here in Deerington (father figures who were romantically involved with one another, making Fern and Peter something of "stepbrothers"). The process of growing closer to Fern has been a very complicated one, but something that has been highly important in Peter's growth here โ€” learning how to see someone he once used to fear and dread so badly as "friend", someone he's grown to rely on, and someone he's now afraid to lose.

LUNA'S CONNECTION TO PAIMON
One of the most significant moments in Peter's life through Deerington was when Luna Lovegood conducted a ritual and made a pact with the demon king within him. It was a desperate thing, and an ultimate act of love, an attempt to save Peter's spirit during a time of quick decline and frighteningly progressive loss of himself. She bound herself to the demon who already felt a connection with her, offering him the guidance and stability he was seeking so badly โ€” not as a one time transaction, but as a lasting relationship โ€” in exchange for him no longer actively trying to be freed of his host's spirit. Paimon agreed, and this was the first gesture that woke up part of his true spirit underneath the lost, mutilated state he had been existing in, thanks to being mishandled so severely by human hands. While the pact did stop Paimon from actively targeting Peter's spirit, it isn't a foolproof thing, as Peter may still someday fade into "forever sleep". However, it did what it was meant to do for the time being, Luna successfully helping keep Peter for at least a while longer. The consequences of the pact and what it may ultimately mean are still unfolding, with Peter hosting many deep fears about Luna having a "partnership" with and being tethered to the ancient entity whose immense power has only just begun to reveal itself. However, he knows it was an act of love, and sacrifice, and the gesture prompted Peter to work harder to help and protect Luna just as much as she's done for him โ€” both of them wanting to keep one another more than anything.

PARENTAL FIGURES
Throughout his time at Deerington, Peter became close to several adults, relying on and perceiving them in particular ways that felt like "parents", a concept that he has both painfully flinched away from and desperately needed. The first adults he became close to were generally drawn to him by a necessity to keep him safe, introduced to Peter while in the throes of one of his worse possession fits, or when he was otherwise lost and helpless, as he so often has been. There was the exorcist Ben Dearborn, whose unlikely bond with the possessed young man was deep, meaningful, and aching, considering what they each were. There was Will Graham, who represented "last remaining family", even if it was due to literally sharing the same last name while living as alternate versions of themselves on the Titanic. There was Wade Wilson, not quite a superhero but something close, watching over Peter from the house next door. There was David Loki, a detective who kept Peter safe at any cost and understood what it was to function through guilt. There was Buzz Lightyear, whom Peter only knew for so long as a calming voice on the other end of the Fluid, offering an ear to listen when he needed it the most. Those men all left over time, vanished and gone back home so suddenly, but there were others who helped fill in those empty spaces for Peter, who watched over him. The android KD6-3.7, the demon Michael: both unlikely figures to provide security and comfort to a possessed boy so terrified of Other but who slowly grew to find a very specific trust in them, and both being sources of a more healthy guidance, respect, and care for Paimon as well, with the demon becoming extremely attached to both K and Michael.

Then there are the "parental figures" who don't quite fit the same mold, the ones who didn't find Peter, but whom he found. There is John Constantine, another exorcist whose name was floating around when Peter especially needed it the most. He sought out the exorcist on his own, even braving to come to his (heavily warded) house โ€” something Peter wouldn't have been capable of mere months before, but finding himself so desperate for help with his circumstances left him no other option. Now, John is someone whom Peter is terrified to lose, for several reasons: he's a source of ancient and frightening magical knowledge, a reliance in matters of what dark thing Peter has been damned to host. He's a sturdy adult figure to help keep watch over him, and Luna, who both desperately need supernatural adult assistance. But he's also a comfort beyond that, a last lingering adult male figure for Peter after all of the ones he's lost over time. Certainly, the process of becoming close to the man has been a rocky and strange one, with the demon inside of Peter seeming to latch onto John just as much as Peter has, further complicating the tangled web that is their relationship, with both John and Peter suffering with guilts and fears on their own sides. John has also literally given his life to protect Peter (and his demon), and Peter has faced the horror of staying by John's side while the man was possessed with a demon of his own, something that was excruciatingly difficult to do. He's trusted John with the terrible task of returning Paimon's spirit to his body after Peter's own death and resurrection in Deerington, trusted John with his very soul as the man has worked to try and keep it safe. The process of learning to trust John may have begun out of a necessity โ€” an exorcist to rely on and seek guidance from, to help him with the horrors of Peter's possession โ€” but grew into something that felt like love. Maybe it's very wrong for him to be so close to John, considering what the man is and what he does โ€” by all standards, they should be enemies of one another. But as unlikely and unholy as it may be, both the possessed teenage boy and the ancient demon king possessing him have grown extremely attached to a prickly exorcist, the one who feels like Dad.

There is also Lucille Sharpe, a woman whom Peter found on the Titanic, both of them existing as alternate versions of themselves but both still the same, at the core. Both haunted by their respective ghosts. Peter lived in a certain fear of Lucille for a long time after they eventually returned to Deerington. To him, the woman seemed hardly human at all โ€” perhaps hosting a demon of her own, or being some otherworldly creature altogether โ€” but even beneath those things, his fear of her stemmed from some deep-rooted place that whispered Mom. It was her cold eyes, sharp tongue, and perhaps some sense of danger deep down, something that felt too, too familiar to Peter's own mother. He tried to avoid Lucille as much as possible, a task heavily complicated by the fact that the demon within Peter was drawn to her, finding a companion and a source of comfort in the librarian with bloodstained hands and so many ghosts. Peter's own relationship with Lucille eventually began to shift: at first, because of Paimon's own shifts โ€” but something began to change in Peter, too. He learned more about Lucille's own past, the ways in which he could relate to her and the ways he couldn't, saw how fiercely she would fight to protect those who needed it, and found himself opening up to her. His perception of the woman is still strange and harrowed, and there are still fears that exist on an almost instinctual level, but the process of slowly becoming closer to her has been one that has felt.... almost natural, through everything. There's something in him that's started longing to be closer to her as much as it senses danger, a sort of mirror of the way he misses his mother as much as he fears her. The process has opened up certain hurts in Peter, but also certain slow, cautious nods towards Peter allowing himself to possibly grow closer to an adult woman in a way he couldn't have before. Truly, Lucille is the closest thing to "mother" โ€” a word that has multiple associations โ€” that Peter has had since losing his own.

POSSESSION = PUNISHMENT
While Peter has certainly undergone growth during his years at Deerington, there is much at the core of him that hasn't necessarily changed. Perhaps the most significant is how he still functions through guilt โ€” how he still needs to. There have been shifts in him over time with accepting that despite his guilt, he can be loved and have closeness with others, but Peter very much still thinks he "deserves" to be punished for what he did to his sister and ultimately entire family. While learning more about the circumstances of his situation has presented many confusions and uncertainties, there is one thing he is resolute on, and that is that he views his possession by the demon as punishment.

This tendency not only keeps him from progressing in certain ways, but also makes him ripe for manipulation, as especially proven by his relationship with Darth Maul. While Peter doesn't exactly fancy being terrorised by the Sith Lord in the particular ways Maul has over time, there's a certain..... twisted reliance on the man due to the fact that Maul has thusfar been the sole voice willing to tell him something Peter perceives as "true" โ€” that he in fact a murderer, and deserves to carry the dark weight of the demon within his body. Hearing someone outright say it to him has been highly damaging to Peter, and yet a cruelty he's almost... needed, as it aligns with his own self-perception and need to function through his guilt. So many people have been kind to him, here โ€” and that kindness is often wounding to his spirit, bruising him in a very particular way. In some horrible way, Peter seeks cruelty as much as kindness, and so what Maul offers to him is... in a sense, welcomed, even if it terrifies him to his core. He also has become aware over time that Maul has a certain connection to Paimon, one that seems to embolden the demon. Though he doesn't know the explicit details behind it and still deeply fears the implications of what this may mean, he has come to "accept" this in a certain way as well (he doesn't want it, but he doesn't... fight against it) โ€” yet again showing how Peter's guilt is still a relentless driving force of how he functions.

LEARNING MORE ABOUT FATE
Lastly, one of the most significant parts of Peter's life in Deerington and something that will shape his existence in the next life in Trench are the things he's learned about his experience and fate back home. That knowledge has been incredibly slowburn and there are still many missing, confusing pieces that he has yet to uncover the truth of (if he ever will at all), but he is no longer completely lost as to things the way he was when he first showed up to Deerington, broken and bloodied and bruised. He has learned what and who Paimon is, learned that there was a cult functioning in worship of him back home, and learned that his own grandmother was involved with and very possibly in change of it. Peter does not yet know that he was groomed for his whole life to become Paimon's Healthy Male Host, but he does know that he, specifically, was "given" to Paimon, that it had to be his body. He still doesn't know that it was related to his bloodline and that he was very literally a sacrificial lamb, but his thinking is along the lines that his soul was "dark enough" or "ruined enough" after what he did to his family to be given to a demon, and therefore that his possession was a deserved punishment.

Peter has also (incorrectly) come to the acceptance that his mother murdered his father, a fact he couldn't accept for a very long time, but the pieces have all lined up for such a conclusion. After all, Annie once tried to kill Peter and Charlie in their sleep by lighting them on fire, and therefore his father's burned corpse made a horrible kind of sense. He still doesn't know that Paimon was inhabiting his snarling mother that night, that it was the demon chasing him up into the attic, guided by the cult's direction. He still doesn't know Paimon's, or the cult's, true roles in the deaths of his entire family (and neither does the demon). And he still doesn't know that the ancient demon king was in fact possessing his little sister from her very infancy.

However, Peter has caught wrenching glimpses of that truth. Over time, the demon has exhibited certain behaviours, mannerisms, and interests of Charlie's, which Peter had always believed to be a form of torment, that Paimon was exerting full punishment on him by imitating her. But in the last months of Deerington, Peter encountered a Waste of himself โ€” a version of self who was slightly older than he is now, who was not "Peter" at all anymore, but had fully been taken over by Paimon. This Waste died in his and Luna's care, and then someone else began to speak from its mouth. It was Charlie looking out from the eyes, Charlie asking Peter to hold her hand in a frightened, childlike voice. This wasn't a trick of the demon's; it was as if his little sister were inside of him, and as if there had been a clear shift of consciousnesses. It was a glimpse into the truth: that somewhere in him is Charlie's spirit and identity, somehow interwoven with Paimon's, and yet not Paimon. That there's some separation between them, as much as there's a connection.

Peter's current thinking will be along the lines that at least some part of his little sister is possessing him like a ghost would: and truly, he's felt haunted by her ever since the family sรฉance, in which Charlie's spirit appeared to have manifested. Unbeknownst to him, that sรฉance was the catalyst for Paimon to become more connected to the Grahams, but Peter thought it was Charlie's vengeful ghost. Now he believes that ghost is somewhere within him too, which isn't actually far from the truth; there are just some key points still missing from his understanding. Perhaps over time, as he learns more about the truth and tips closer to his looming fate, Peter will uncover the extent of those truths. For now, he will be coming into Trench with that fresh awareness of something of Charlie's spirit very likely within him, separate from his assumption that it's just Paimon, a horrifying and frightening weight to sort out how to understand, carry, and deal with.

Deer Country Attributes

โ€ข Canon Powers: Peter himself has no "powers", though he is possessed by a demon king of Hell and therefore comes with inhuman capabilities / effects of demonic possession. The demon is not a playable character on its own, due to canonically having no communicable form outside of a host (he can't exist longterm on a plane that isn't Hell, unless he is within a vessel), and not being able to be removed from Peter without a very specific ritual that involves Peter permanently dying. Therefore, he is very much a part of Peter's existence (and metaphorical for inherited mental illness / trauma / abuse / ~personal demons~), rather than his own thing.

Being possessed by the demonic entity does mean that Peter technically "inherited" Paimon's canon powers into his body, but he was not able to use them himself in Deerington. However, Peter's new blood will now allow him access to those demonic powers, which are detailed below!
โ€ข Blood Type: Darkblood.
โ€ข Omen: White-lipped python.
โ€ข Blessed Day: November 1, Peter's birthday.
โ€ข Patron Pthumerian: The Tower.
โ€ข Blood Power Manifestation:
ALIGN / COMPLIMENT DARKBLOOD
Given that Paimon's abilities fall under the umbrella of "reality-warping", my plan is to align / compliment those canon demon king powers with Peter's new Darkblood, merging demonology / grimoire / occult themes and functioning with the blood's capacity. The Darkblood itself will be what now gives Peter access to those reality-warping powers over time, as I plan for it to be a very slow process.

NATURAL "NERFING" OF KNOWLEDGE CAPABILITY
Paimon is an extremely powerful entity, one of the top tier demon kings and teachers (in his universe). While nerfing is no longer a thing here, I plan to (at least initially) keep him from accessing his true potential in the realm of knowledge, as he would be essentially omniscient to some pretty intense stuff (given that he has Knowledge of All Arts, Sciences, and "Secret Things" including hidden truths, philosophies, knowledge of the past and future....) He is then able to "warp reality" to grant wishes to the people who are pursuing any of these knowledge-based things. Instead of having to keep him in line by the Pthumerians all the time (and to avoid constantly having to check with people on what's cool for him to know or not), it makes more sense to me to lean into the "natural" reasons for him to not reach full potential when it comes to his knowledge capability.

In Hereditary, he has been mishandled and forced from host to host in a cult's pursuit of placing him in the "correct" vessel, and in that process lost his memories of himself and gained a heaping dose of identity confusion. These are elements I plan to continue exploring in my portrayal of him even as he grows stronger and remembers more of himself, and as Peter slowly leans more into his demon king fate. This version of Paimon has been extremely messed up, essentially traumatised and maimed by human hands over time, and so I'm more interested in exploring the process of him trying to regain himself. The focus will be on him pursuing the arcane knowledges provided in Trench, exploring and reconnecting with himself, etc. There may be specific circumstances or events in which I might be able to more intensely explore that knowledge capability, but I likely will never have him reach that "all-knowing" state that the true Paimon would be in, or at least not touch too intently upon it for a very long time. Technically, it's not really that he'll be "nerfed" down; it's that he's still unable to reach his truest potential, even if it is there in him somewhere. I feel that this is a suiting way to keep him from being Too Much, and it feels more correct for Hereditary-verse Paimon โ€” and therefore Peter.

Lastly, there is the fact that Peter (though having been reborn into Trench and therefore no longer Just A Weak Human) is still very new when it comes to being able to adequately house this immense power within himself. It is actually wrong for demons of Paimon's high standing to permanently possess a host body; they are meant to exist in Hell, temporarily making contact with summoners and then returning home to their respective kingdoms / areas of Hell (yes, King Paimon has his own House in Hell......He just wants to go home, y'all). Paimon's forced, permanent presence in Peter means that they are both Wrong in one another. Therefore, some of Paimon's capabilities will simply be tempered down a bit by Peter's inability to handle them just yet.

DEMON KING ABILITIES
wish-granting. As mentioned, Paimon has the ability to grant wishes and desires of those who have correctly summoned him and provided him with an offering / sacrifice in exchange, functioning as a sort of djinn / genie entity. While the extremely powerful knowledge-based wishes will be ""nerfed"" under the condition that Paimon doesn't currently remember / have access to All That Knowledge......... he / Peter will still be able to grant wishes. This will have conditions of its own and I fully plan to use Wise Discretion, here. Nothing could be granted that would be considered fourth-walling or game-breaking, and if anything were to tip towards that level of Too Much, the Pthumerians would certainly step in to put a stop to it. This is also something I plan to take extremely slowly, having to be explored and developed over time, and it's also meant to be flexible โ€” very possibly being affected by the world itself at times, or other factors.

In terms of what can be granted, it depends on the intention of the request, Paimon and/or Peter's degree of connection to the requester, and various other factors. The process will also not be simple or quick, and Peter can't just go around fulfilling desires willy-nilly. There are ancient ceremonial rules that must be followed; a ritual will be required, consisting of the person "summoning" King Paimon's energy through a certain procedure. Though he can no longer be summoned from Hell as he's meant to be, he will still have to be called forth in a specific manner, and presented with an offering. This may fail depending on the requester's degree of intention and connection with Peter and/or the demon, their offering not being accepted, or on Peter's mind or body not being able to handle it, as will often happen. The bigger or more intense the request, the more energy he would have to spend, so only very small things will be the extent of his prowess for a good while.

Typically, King Paimon is most commonly associated with granting weapons, armour, treasures, and wealth, though this is a wide spectrum. "Treasures" may be physical treasures โ€” while ancient texts often describe literal gold and whatnot, this can also involve things that are simply important to or greatly desired by a person, especially with the Darkblood reality warp factor involved. This can also mean emotional treasures, as in clarity, lucidity, guidance in emotional endeavours or decision-makings, etc. Paimon is said to be especially sensitive and in-tuned to his summoners' energies and emotional states of mind; he is meant to teach, guide, and provide in these ways as well. (Also worth mentioning is that since Trench has no monetary currency, he wouldn't be able to make anyone be more "wealthy" if that were their request; gold would be for decorative purposes.) Other knowledge-based grants would also absolutely still be a thing he can do, such as granting books, maps, tools, and other types of things that fall under a "knowledge" spectrum but aren't straight up "omniscient knowledge".

object conjuring. Tied in with the above (and directly linked to Darkblood's reality warp factor), Paimon can conjure physical items into reality โ€” generally as "rewards" for people, but also for his own purposes. Therefore, this will be an ability that Peter will gain access to over time. However, as mentioned, given his inexperience and the fact that he and the demon are still so Wrong, conjuring will often take too much of a toll on him to be fulfilled, or be imperfect. Items may be warped, failed, or horrific fusions of things... possibly blends of organic and inorganic materials.... perhaps mixtures of what he was given as an offering and what he was trying to conjure. This will be something that will have to be developed over time.

physical manipulation. Along the spectrum of object conjuring / reality warping, Paimon can physically influence, move, and alter things. Given Darkblood's propensity towards telekinesis, this ability will come more "naturally" to Peter; however, that doesn't necessarily mean it will be easier for him to control and use, and will be highly dangerous at times. The demonic power inside of him that he is so new to having access to may uncontrollably cause items to move around, be drawn towards or away from him, be altered, etc. without his consent.

psychological manipulation. Paimon can also manipulate things on a psychological / emotional / mental level. He is capable of inducing visions and hallucinations in people. This can be used in a helpful manner (such as clearing doubts, giving peaceful visions, dreams, etc.) However, it can also be used in the opposite way (causing doubts, giving horrific visions and hallucinations, nightmares, etc.)

flight-related abilities. Paimon can levitate, float, fly, traverse walls and ceilings... Given the Darkblood tendency towards gravity manipulation, this ability will come a bit more effortlessly to Peter โ€” though often out of his control. Aka he might sometimes wake up on the ceiling or..... do an abundance of spooky demon levitating. He's fine, it's fine.

water-related abilities. Paimon's associated element is water, and therefore he has a strong connection with it, as well as certain powers that reflect this. He can breathe underwater... indefinitely. He can also command fish. My thought-process is that he / Peter would be able to command any type of "natural" fish, but not species that are exclusive to the Trench setting / the game's world.

spirit-summoning / reanimation. Paimon can not only reanimate the dead, but cause them to do his bidding, as well as the bidding of whomever he is working with. Since Sleepers reincarnate, this ability will not be able to affect them at all.

granting familiars. Among the demon kings, Paimon is said to grant especially good and worthy familiars. Familiars are low-ranking supernatural entities in the form of an animal, meant to assist witches / magicians / whomever has summoned him / etc. Paimon's particular familiars can also teach the Arts (occult knowledge / magic practice, etc.), further spreading his guidance and teachings.

POSSESSION HORROR
This has been a huge part of Peter's character through his journey in Deerington, and I plan to utilise his Darkblood for this, as well. His rebirth into his "true form" in Trench aligns with the fact that his Darkblood gives him access to the powers of his "true fate" of being reborn as Paimon. Aka, Peter's "true form" also involves being "filled up with" / taken over by the demon king, and essentially every part of his existence here will be rooted in that concept. I fully plan to incorporate the various horror themes of his canon through his Darkblood manifestation.

The presence of his Darkblood powers will increase the adverse effects and symptoms of demonic possession in Peter, as he and Paimon are no longer in the nebulous dreamscape of Deerington, which at times padded certain aspects of their forced co-existence. The effects of Peter's possession will be even more "literal" within him as there will now be no "dreamscape allowance" of separation between him and Paimon at all, and with Peter's Darkblood serving as a bridge to now connect his spirit to the demon's. They aren't mentally fully merged, but their spirits are permanently directly touching now, and were "reborn" into this place together. I plan to play heavily into how there will be more severe effects as a result, both emotionally / psychologically and physically. There will be a lot more of his "unwarranted demon shit" going on, and more of a blend over time between what's "Peter" and what's "the demon." Basically, I plan to take what's already there and amp it all up. The reality warp factor may also cause physical manifestations of the demon's presence within him over time (such as horns, fangs, claws, etc.), potentially especially if coupled with / influenced by Corruption.

The themes of "severe mental illness interwoven with possession horror" in Peter's canon are also something I plan to dig more intricately to. This involves a lot of identity confusion, as Paimon has existed in a few hosts of Peter's bloodline prior to being put inside of Peter: his uncle Charles, his sister Charlie, and his mother Annie. Given that he spent thirteen years within Charlie since her birth, this identity is the more prevalent one that may emerge; however, there will be times that a "Charles" and "Annie" persona might surface, simply because of Paimon's confusion. There will still be times that identity is a highly, horrifically, ambiguous concept (aka it isn't clear who is in the driver's seat, or perhaps too many people are), but I also want to dig more into those separate "personas" to show the differences in Paimon's behaviour while he was inside each of them (and the themes of various mental illnesses of each). In particular, I want to pay more focus to the "spirit" of Charlie, who is technically possessing Peter too.

I also plan to have his powers be a source of possession horror in themselves, at times manifesting completely outside of Peter's control / will, and being quite physically and mentally harrowing for him (and others) in the process. For example, Paimon's sensitivity to people's energies / emotions may cause Peter to inadvertently conjure related things into reality. This could be someone's fear or other source of upset (have a fear of spiders? It would be very unfortunate if one, or several, were to suddenly manifest and something horrific were to happen, there!) This could be true for his vision / hallucination inducement, as well. There's a vast spectrum of reality-warping, demonic horror that could be played around with here โ€” though things like this would of course only be done as planned / with mun permission.

ELDRITCH CONNECTION
While 'connection to the godlike beings of this world' is a central theme, I definitely have plans to dig in hard with that concept, as Peter is literally inhabited by a godlike being of his own. Though Paimon isn't the same type of otherworldly being / isn't as powerful as the beings of this universe, I feel he will feel a specific, very spiritual connection to the Pthumerians, as a Fellow Ethereal Eldritch Thing. He (and therefore potentially Peter) will be very sensitive to and especially respective of them, being drawn hard in to the familiar concepts of ritual and offering.

I also plan to pay attention to a connection with the Eldritch Feminine Energy / power / influence of this world. Among the goetic demons, Paimon is the only one associated with gender ambiguity. In various texts, he is described as he, she, or they; depending on region or grimoire he is worshiped as a man, woman, god, or goddess. The version I play is said to "covet the body of a male host" and have the body / sex of a man, but have the face of a "beautiful" / very "feminine" woman. He also spent thirteen years in a female host's body, and she very much dealt with gender confusion as a result. Paimon's name itself (which means a very ambiguous "tinkling" sound) was also originally derived from a Middle Eastern goddess. All of this to say, I feel there are pieces of the highly equivocal demon king (and Peter as a result) that will be touched upon in this particular world, unlocked by Peter's Darkblood allowing Paimon to have further access to his spirit, and vice-versa.
